Atelier Pall Sleeve – 1000 days later

Atelier Pall sleeve, 1000 days old.

Two years ago I did a positive review of the Atelier Pall Leather Sleeve which I had gotten for my iPhone 5S. Now, two and a half years later, with an iPhone 7 on its way to me (I skipped a couple of generations), I thought it would be interesting do a second look at it, just to sum up how well the sleeve has served its purpose.

The Atelier Pall Sleeve has been the only protection for my phone for nearly 1000 days, constantly in my front pocket. And I must say it has held up perfectly and aged beautifully!

When it was new the color was bit lighter and the texture was matte. The leather was also quite stiff. Over the years it has Read more…

Review: Baseqi iSDA 303A Micro SD adapter for MacBook Pro Retina 13″

Back of adapter

For some time I have been considering a Nifty MiniDrive for my MacBook Pro 13″ with Retina display, to expand the available disk space with up to 64 Gb. The Nifty MiniDrive is a MicroSD card adapter for the built-in SD card reader on the MacBook Pro (It’s available for the MacBook Air too.) but much shorter than the adapter card that are often included when buying a MicroSD card.

But I couldn’t really justify the cost for what the Nifty MiniDrive really is, a fancy MicroSD card adapter which I didn’t necessarily need. Sure, the Nifty MiniDrive is CNC machined aluminum and it sits totally flush with the MacBook casing when inserted, but it’s also a bit pricey. So I did a search on eBay and found something similar, but with a less catchy name, the Baseqi iSDA 303A. It was available for less than half the price of the Nifty MiniDrive, including free shipping from Taiwan. Review: Atelier Pall iPhone Leather Sleeve

Atelier Pall iPhone 5 Leather SleeveAfter my disappointing purchase of the iCase Leather, which I reviewed a while back, I immediately decided to order another case for my iPhone 5S. This time it was an Atelier Pall Leather Sleeve, in brown. I had read about it in the same thread on MacRumours as where I found out about the iCase Leather. I have used this leather sleeve for six months now and thought it was time I reviewed it. Review: iCase Leather Thin Series for iPhone 5

Last week I ordered an iCase Leather Thin Series for iPhone 5 case from iCase Leather in Hungary. According to their site the case is made with “genuine leather”. I had heard about the case in a thread on MacRumours. User esfrost wrote about it and posted a couple of photos, which in my opinion looked great. It seemed promising and I hoped it could compete with the Sena Ultraslim Classic.
